AJL Manufacturing, Inc. Launches Lean Manufacturing Training with Assistance from New York’s BUSINYS Grant Program
Rochester, NY October 25, 2006 – AJL Manufacturing, Inc., a Rochester, NY-based contract manufacturer specializing in manufacturing products involving precision sheet metal fabrication and electromechanical assemblies, will be launching a lean manufacturing training program for its employees. The lean manufacturing training program is being made possible through a $49,950 grant from New York State’s “Building Skills in New York State (BUSINYS)” program.
AJL Manufacturing’s training grant will enable it to provide a year-long lean manufacturing training program to its employees, which will be taught by lean manufacturing experts. Employees in the training program will learn and implement techniques to remove waste from processes, increase operational flexibility, and improve customer satisfaction.
“Competition in the contract manufacturing industry is extremely intense,” said Geoff Buell, Chief Operating Officer, AJL Manufacturing, Inc. “To compete effectively, we need to continue strengthening our employee base and optimize our operations by eliminating non-value added activities from our processes. Thanks to the support from New York State’s BUSINYS program, we can now provide comprehensive lean training to our employees, and accomplish these goals.”
